IceCreamMelter, I am glad you started this thread because it does not get talked about enough and all the trolls and forum hounds just shoot this topic down like they are getting paid to. I am just sick of people saying it would be hard , and I call BS on that statement because the Japanese accounts can change there online ID as much as they want. All Sony has to do is update the account software for psn so every account in america gets 10 online ID slots and archive the original one, plus if any of your ten go unused for 6 months it automatically gets erased. There is no reason why they can not do this, its just a software update and its one they will make money from, win win..........

Hey gR3yGh051 , in your attempt to make an argument you actually gave us a solution, why can't Sony update the American psn software to support a displayed name and an account name?
Don't worry. PS4 will have the option to connect to your Facebook.
SOUTHERN C0MF0RT, I watched the video and I stand by my previous post, it can be done. The software that needs to be updated is the psn software , the ten slots are not given to us on the console , they are stored in our account info, so when they are looking at our account info they still see cb765 but they will also see what I changed my name to and the one that is about to be deleted . It will take some work and time but it can be done. But this is just one solution I am sure there are others. And why can't this be a thread about the solution, if someone has a better idea post it and who knows maybe we can help Sony make this a feature we all can use!
Something tells me you do not know about SQL or Access...
I really dont care but its silly a name change feature hasnt made it to playstation going into the year of 2014. lol. "its not impossilbe but just alot of work"
I was hoping there was a GOOD reason for them not to allow it but "You can't change it because its complicated." seems to be the only thing I can find. I thought that if somebody had an offensive name, then Sony would make them change it. Why can't they offer that, for a fee, to non-offensive users?
Is not that the regular posters here are trolls. They are just simple stating the truth Sony doesn't allow changing your id because is difficult to make.If they had the ability to do it they would have done it by now.
