Re: [INFO] PS4 Firmware 4.50 Beta Phase

My only question, will we still be able to use standby/resume features with an external hard drive? If so I'll have no problem selling my 2.5" 4 TB that's running off an extension cable into the ps4 and buying a proper external, and might as well go big 6tb+

@InTheZone

While I don't think I can say for sure the specifics until the final release notes come out for 4.50 proper, I would imagine that all functions of the PS4 would remain the same regardless of how system storage is allocated.

If you're going to be in the beta, you can try it then, or if you're not, then you can try when 4.50 proper comes out.

I'm going to pass on the beta as I don't want to buy an external to find out it has limitations and then when the beta ends it will render it unusable until the OFW releases.

I hear ya @InTheZone.

I don't do betas myself, at least not for system software haha. Heck, I don't really even bother with game betas much anymore either.

It is worth mentioning that any feature not mentioned on the PlayStation Blog is not allowed to be discuss here. Use the private boards to report any encountered bugs.

When the the beta ends, the OFW is released almost at the same time. Also, your console does not need to revert back to the previous OFW when the beta ends. It just means that the BFW will not receive further updates. You can stay on that BFW for a while afterward.

I'm not in this beta, but I was in the last one.
