I also know the rules and my way around Playstation... they forums are a constant battle because they seem to always be changing because Lithium can't seem to hold it down right. (one reason Sony looked to another company a few years back... yet came back to Litium for some reason... maybe it was a money issue, maybe it was a staff issue... I don't know for sure yet I know it happened.) I say this mainly beause I do see a lot of issues with many MODs, and I hope it gets fixed soon... Another really great reason to have a Community Manager...

Lithium provided two services back then.

a. The forum itself

b. Moderation/administration

Then Sony switched to Jive.  It was a major change.  The forum switched to Jive and Sony took over the moderation/administration in-house.

Then more recently, Sony went back to Lithium for the forum only.  Sony retained its in-house mod/admin team.  They did not give Lithium a contract for providing the mod/admin support.

The Lithium mod/admin team was the finest I'd ever seen and were exceptionally talented and efficient.  For me it was one of those "stand in awe" type things.  Especially when it came to shun.  I swear that guy was a superhero ninja or something.  Normal human beings can't operate that quickly.  But he wasn't alone.  Everyone had their own flavor of awesome.  The Lithium mod/admin team was far and away the best and most professional team I'd ever seen.  There's just no comparison.

I'm sure the main reason Sony dropped them was money.  Service like that doesn't come cheap.  They saw it as an unnecessary expense, and decided to do it all in-house.

@DrGadget Do you know if Litium ran the forums in 2007 and 2008 as well? Also was the forum seperated by region then? Or was the Playstation forum all one unit?

I never went to the Europe PSU but Lithium definitely ran the US forums in 2007 and 2008.

Lithium was running the forums when I got here in 2004.  I believe they had been running them the whole time up until then.  I'm over 95% sure of that.  But absolutely in 2007-08.

Ok so apparently some of my earlier issues with MODs for Playstation was not on the Litium Boards... unless they also ran the UK (now EU)  forums then... Maybe some of the old issues I saw were with Jive Forums too... Yet I also do know that I have had some issues with Litium Moderations in the past... or maybe just some individuals with access to the Moderation on the forums, maybe conflict of intrest with buddies...

However  I do understand that Mods are human, and that things pertaining to a forum take time...

Like you @DrGadget I have a close friend who only speeks highly of the old Litium forum set up before Jive... He says we had some hard *** Mods that were very fair yet very good at their jobs... so I know what you said about that is true because he has never lied to me...

Thanks for clarifiying that for me, I really appreciate it...

Introduction of myself

Hey, just started using the site and decided it would be appropriate of myself to introduce myself here.

I'm a rather avid gamer who's fond of trophy hunting (Would say I'm a pretty dedicated trophy hunter as I'm level 23, have 56 platinums', and have a relatively good completion rate.). I also like reading manga/books, watching anime, and so on. (Some of my favorite anime are Toradora, FLCL, the original Ghost in the Shell movie, etc.)

Hope I'll become a bit active throughout these forums and enjoy my stay on here. Happy gaming to all.

Welcome.

As long as you aren't here to complain about how much you hate games and PS, you'll probably enjoy it. That is, until you tire of the pointless existence of the people who lurk here that do what I just mentioned.

It the weekend so weekend moderation is known to be slow IMHO so the trolls come out on late Friday night until late Sunday night, then weekday moderation steps in and does a better job!! Not trying to be rude but it the truth IMOSmiley Sad

Hi @DanteHellMode98

Welcome to the PlayStation Forums!

It's always nice to see a new friendly face (so to speak) around here. The forums has its qwirks but at the end of the day there are a lot of good community members here. Your post inspired me a bit to dig back to what I think is my first (or one of my first) posts on these forums in late 2013, by referencing a snippet of advice given to me by the great @da1writer, and I quote:

"Join in the conversations here to get a feel of the community, we are a friendly bunch but do like to kid around sometimes but do avoid the few trolls we have on the forum (you'll know them once you see them)."

It's great advice. Like I said the forum has its qwirks, but if you hang out and participate in discussions with the friendly bunch, and tend to ignore the trolling or negative bunch. At the end of the day we're all here because we love PlayStation and we love games. Stick with that concept and you'll fit in great! Also this thread is still kicking around if you're looking to make new friends!

If you ever need anything or have any questions, don't be afraid to ask!

and...Wow! Nice trophy hunting! I am somewhat of a trophy completionist myself, although I suppose not to that extent. Super cool!

Sadly, even weekday moderation defends and allows spam. All while admonishing people who point it out and in some cases, go so far as to ban or warn users who actually contribute here. I've reported off topic posts in my own threads and they go ignored, yet I've posted 100% on topic in threads and been warned for "off topic" posting. At this point I think 90% of the mods are running on auto-pilot and simultaneously hold grudges while blindly admonishing anyone who is reported by the resident @55 kissers.

I legitimately only come here out of habit and the few users I like these days. These forums genuinely suck now and I've been doing this forum thing since GamePro and Bad Hare and Dan Electro were a thing.
